With scandals as big as those plaguing the Royal Family, it’s no wonder Sarah Ferguson has been keeping a low profile. The former Duchess hasn’t been spotted in public for months, leading to questions over her whereabouts. However, her secret abode has now been exposed – and it’s far from a dingy hideaway.

The former Duchess of York remained in the Austrian Alps

Turns out, Fergie has been enjoying her time out of the spotlight at a little alpine retreat. Earlier this week it was revealed that she was staying at a chalet in the Austrian Alps, per The Sun. The newspaper published photographs of her standing outside last week.

An insider told the Sun: “Fergie has been keeping an incredibly low profile while high up in the Alps. The area is absolutely beautiful and it’s very quiet most of the time, so it’s the perfect place for a high-profile figure such as her to lie low when the heat is on.”

Now, People has confirmed that the ex-Duchess has been at the isolated location for months.

Fergie hasn’t been spotted in public since September last year. There were even reports that she had become a “virtual recluse.” She and ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor did attend the christening of their granddaughter – Princess Beatrice’s second baby – in December, but there were no photos of the pair at the event.

It was previously reported that the ex-Duchess of York may be staying with Priscilla Presley, or hiding out in Switzerland or Ireland. Instead, she’s seemingly been laid up in Austria the whole time.

However, if the latest rumors are true, Fergie may be back in the public eye very soon. Sources say she is planning “to go full Kardashians” and become a social media influencer.
